Mission & Vision

Welcome to a place where kids come first!

Every day, we strive to do what is in the best interest of our students. We would like to share with you our vision and mission statement. As you read through them, we hope you see our desire to be the best we can be for our students!

Vision

We are Tigers! We will empower all stakeholders with the belief that each one of us is the creator of our future, positively pursuing our passions to the betterment of our community.

Mission Statement

The Mount provides all stakeholders with engaging and creative teaching and learning opportunities through a positive environment, empowering each individual to maximize their potential.

Kid Friendly Mission Statement:

We want students to reach their PAW POWER POTENTIAL!

Belief Statements:  Students

  • Students take ownership of their own learning, education, and behaviors through individual goal setting and tracking their own progress.
  • Students will be held accountable for their behavior and will take responsibility for their actions.
  • Students will develop a love of learning that will encourage and prepare them for college and career readiness.

Belief Statements:  Teachers

  • Teachers will facilitate student learning and growth through instruction, student goal setting and progress monitoring.
  • Teachers will collaborate with families to improve student academic and behavioral performance.
  • Teachers are valued as professionals and are given flexibility to meet their individual needs of students.
  • Teachers are respected and encouraged to voice their opinions for the betterment and overall effectiveness of the school.

Belief Statements:  School

  • Woodard Elementary protects daily scheduled times for faculty to plan and collaborate in order to provide effective instruction and learning opportunities for students.
  • At Woodard Elementary, we believe all children can learn, achieve, and succeed and will be acknowledged through celebrations and school-wide recognitions.
  • Teachers are given opportunities to improve their craft through meaningful professional development that targets specific teacher needs.
  • For core instruction, teachers are provided with sufficient research-based resources that are aligned with current state standards.

Belief Statements:  Families and Community

  • Families and community members are encouraged to take an active role in our students’ education through school events and classroom volunteering.
  • Families collaborate with teachers to instill education as a top priority in students’ lives.
